Client: Homeowner.
System: Two Daikin 5kW concealed ducted systems heating and cooling two bedrooms each.

Frequently with residential installations discretion is the key, and this was no exception. The only visible signs of this system were 10-inch diameter ceiling outlets in each of the four rooms and two wall mounted controllers.

Not a single cable, pipe, or duct is visible from within the house, and the evaporator units are suspended away from the ceilings within the loft of the property, meaning silent operation to go with the discrete looks.

Condenser units were placed at a high level along the side of the house, keeping them out of the way for access and also out of sight. Running services within wall cavities and above the ceilings made the installation more challenging, but the effort was well worth the seamless appearance.

The high quality Daikin systems have built in power inverters, which take a standard single phase domestic power supply and convert it within the outdoor unit to a three phase power system. Three phase power is used frequently in industrial machinery as it makes heavy machinery such as motors (or air conditioning compressors) run quieter and more efficiently.

Fully insulated flexible duct is used throughout and the ceiling outlets are adjustable reducing or stopping flow from a room independently from the other room served by the same unit. The Daikin wired controllers have seven day programmers with five events per day and incorporate temperature sensors for effective heating or cooling based around your schedule.
